I have tried many different types of yoga classes in the past (including a "therapeutic yoga" class), but the one that works and is consistently the best for me is the Chair Yoga class you teach. For several years, I went to Gordon Head Rec Centre for your chair class, and I've also taken one of your other classes (not chair) but I'm finding the virtual Chair Yoga classes you now offer and have offered since the beginning of the pandemic have the very best effect on me overall for strength gaining and also for stretching. Plus, I don't have to drive across town to get there and then back home! I want to keep doing virtual Chair Yoga with you for as long as you offer it! Thank you!!--
Tessa’s chair yoga class has made it possible for me to continue my yoga practice when back issues made my regular class impossible to take part in. Many of our chair practices have helped my back immensely. Overall a good full body workout. Thank-you Tessa - couldn't do it without you !
I’m a very inflexible 60 year old guy who tried some classes years ago but felt I was straining too much to continue. I’ve had hip flexor problems for 18 months & have tried various treatments and stretches with little improvement. One session with Tessa & I noticed a big difference. I think it’s a combination of finding the right level and having Tessa take the time to be sure my technique was correct for me to be comfortable and to get the best results. I can’t wait to keep up with this to try to keep physically active with less pain and fewer injuries

I’ve been practicing Yoga with Tessa for three years now, and I find her wisdom in classes healing and inspirational in many ways. As a martial artist, I spend much time fighting and becoming stronger, but I also must become more supple and relaxed. My cross training studies with Tessa have helped me with the meditative and calming practices I so often miss when wrapped up in the high speed of defense training. Also her classes free my body from tense muscles and hard feelings I hold onto unwillingly. The effects of her practice ripple deep into my life and training now, making challenges more approachable and finding relaxation a simple and daily practice. Thank you Tessa. Dear everyone, Yoga with Tessa Hamelin has been one of the best things I have ever done for myself. Since beginning about 2 years ago, I have noticed many differences in my body and health. Some of the changes include increased flexibility as well as improvement with balance and core strength. Working with Tessa has taught me how to calm and clear my mind while focusing on breathing techniques and her guidance has helped me overcome two years of insomnia and achieve overall balance in my life. Tessa’s understanding of each individual person that attends her classes makes even the group classes very custom. I will forever support this incredibly talented and gifted instructor and think that everyone could benefit from attending her classes.
I want to thank you for doing what you do and for being you. I know yoga is your career and that you understand the meaning and impact of what you do but I still want to let you know the contribution you have made to my life. Meeting you and benefiting from your teaching has added a great deal of value to my life – it has truly enhanced my physical and mental wellbeing. Since attending your classes I have been relieved of pain that I have lived with for years and sessions with you have been an important reprieve from the busyness of my daily life and have provided me the opportunity to get grounded and present and be mindful of how I want to be at work and in my personal life. Hi Tessa I wanted to let you know I am very grateful for my on line chair yoga class with you on Friday mornings. It brings a moment of normality to these trying times and helps me to keep sane!!! I do miss the actual in person class but the on line class does alot for my mood and keeps me moving. "See" you Friday. cheers Jocelyn
